ABOUT US | OUR STORY
The presence of the Vineyard movement in the Houston area began in 1988 when Church in the City, an assembly of God Church in the Heights, became a Vineyard. Since that time, The Houston Vineyard has planted over thirteen Vineyard churches in the Houston area.
In 1995, a group from the Sugar Land Vineyard began to sense God calling them to start a new church in the Brazosport area. After starting with a handful of people, God began to form and grow the Church. Our Sunday morning services began on October 12, 1997, and The Brazosport Vineyard incorporated as a 501-C3 non-profit corporation during the same year.
In January of 2004, after a transition of leadership, God brought Bill Laswell to Lake Jackson as the new Senior Pastor of the Vineyard Church. Bill is a native Houstonian who became a Christian at the age of 17. After working in the manufacturing and financial sectors, as well as a number of years as a pilot and flight instructor, he has devoted his time exclusively to vocational ministry. Bill has served over twenty years in a pastoral role in the Vineyard movement.
